Born in June 1974, Rob Driscoll has spent his life up to date in Portsmouth, Hampshire. As a child, Rob always had a keen interest in the art of Magic, one of his favourite childhood television shows being the "Paul Daniels Magic Show". After finishing school a model student, Rob went on to study Cabinet Making and Furniture Design at the Highbury College of Technology in Portsmouth. On completion of this Rob went on to become a full time professional Upholsterer. It was at the age of 20 that Rob attended an adult education course in Magical Entertainment. Rob reluctantly carried out this six-week course teaching the basic principles. Unbeknownst to him, it was to change his life.
Later, in the January of 1995, still at the age of 20, Rob joined the Portsmouth & District Magic Circle, a highly respected magic society founded in 1938. Some of the most talented minds and performers in magic have spawned from this society including Lewis Ganson and Will Ayling. After several years of advice, practice and performance Rob grew not only in body but also in performance. It was the summer of 1999 that proved to be the turning point in Rob's Magical career. After gaining the respect of his fellow Magicians, it was this year that he was elected to President of the Portsmouth & District Magic Circle. At the age of just 25, he was to be the youngest ever President of the society. Robs knowledge of Magic had grown, and continued to grow and his enthusiasm for creating his own Magical principles also grew. Putting his expertise in Cabinet Making and Furniture Design to good use, he created what was to become known as the "Babylon Box", a daring, incredible and dangerous illusion. He also created his own props and finely tuned his "Close-Up" magic skills to astound an audience in any given situation.
In the autumn of 1999 Rob attended the University of Portsmouth to study Art & Design. Putting this new talent into practice came in the art of face painting, a highly skilled and requested art. It was during this period that Rob continued to fine-tune his Magical abilities and performed more and more for the general public. Rob then signed with one of the leading agencies in the South of England, "Children's Party Entertainments". In the autumn of 2001 the time had come for Rob to take the leap forward and follow his true calling in life. He then became a full time Professional Magical Entertainer. Today, his skills continue to grow and expand and is now adept in many other arts including Balloon Modelling, Origami and Stilt Walking. Performing for audiences of all ages ranging from Children's Parties to Corporate Functions, Rob's love for his art shines through in every one of his performances.
